If you notice, the ostrich bites elephants' nose. that's why the elephant treated the ostrich like that.

I, uh, don't think the elephant even knew what it was doing. It probably thought the ostrich was tugging away for fun. It could have ripped that poor ostrich's head off and never known it did anything wrong. Alas, the most brutal things in nature are committed by the most innocent...
